Derek Hey you – yes you. You are an amazing gift to your community! You have chosen to dedicate a big chunk of every single day to making our world a better place. You don’t just want to make a difference – you are putting your hands and your heart and your soul where your mouth is!

For the often unrewarded and unrecognized work you do, every single day, you deserve a gift – a boost you can share with everyone you know who is also working to create an amazing world.

You are amazing. You are doing amazing work. Thank you for doing it, and thank you for caring about doing it even better.

It’s Monday! Are you ready to create the future of your community – of our world?

Some days it is easy to forget that we are indeed creating the future with every single thing we do. We know intellectually that every assumption we make, every action we take, every word we speak is creating the future. And yet sometimes we see only what is frustrating, annoying, maddening.

And then…

This week will be an intense one for us – many things going on, all exciting, some stressful. Can I remember to look beyond the behaviors of those I encounter – to find what they are experiencing behind what they are showing to the world?

Here’s to all of us remembering to take a deep breath when we perceive people as being difficult. Here’s to our remembering to take that opportunity to encourage their goodness – to hug them each time they ask, “What is that?”

It’s Monday – time to take a deep breath and dive into another week of creating the future of our world!

So what huge visionary change are you aligning your work behind this week? You do have a vision for the huge, honking difference you want to make, don’t you?

And before you go thinking, “But the economy!” or “But I don’t have time to focus on those dreams – I have critical things that won’t get done if I don’t do them!” – if that even begins to enter your mind, then this week’s Rock Out is for YOU!

So what’s it going to be?

Pollyanna Principle #2 reminds us: We are creating the future, right now, with every action we take, whether we do so consciously or not.

Stare only at your desk, and you are creating the future by ignoring the future.

Aim squarely at the future you intend to create, and you will do what’s on your desk within the context of that future. You will be consciously aiming today’s work at what is possible for tomorrow.

The choice is yours, every day. What huge, honking difference do you want to make for your community, for your world? Keep that vision firmly in mind and today – right now – start walking towards it.
