Taking Time for Mindfulness

Sitting in a tree To accomplish community transformation – changing unfavorable community conditions into favorable conditions – requires taking the time to be mindful about every aspect of the work each of us does, every day.

Asking the question, “Am I walking the talk of the future I want to see? And if not, how can I expect others to do so?” requires deliberation and dialogue, inquiry and exploration.

When we choose “fast and expedient” over “mindful,” the choice we are making is really about the degree of change we hold ourselves accountable for creating for our world. As always, the choice begins not with our actions, but with our thoughts.
