I was enjoying reading the letter posted, until I came to the part where the young Canadian mom told her friend her husband hit her. I could not believe that one would pick up her child and leave!!! In my community if that happened we as a Women Circle would spring into action. Maybe its because Aboriginal women are confronted with this kind of happenings so often. I don’t know if Canadain news reach you but right now at least 500 Aboriginal women are missing and probably murdered. By the way, I work as volunteer in an organization for the betterment of our Aboriginal women. Elize
